Over the past ten years Christella has produced and musically directed various professional live and recorded musical/theatrical performances, including producer for Rob Green’s new EP, Distributed by Outlaw which debuted No 3 in the R&B iTunes chart and No 34 in the iTunes Album chart in 2016, and producing and vocally arranging albums for Ella Andall in Trinidad. She has provided vocal and songwriting tuition for both national and international educational establishments and has performed and vocally directed many professional studio recordings and performance poetry showcases.
One of the highlights in Christella’s career was being invited by Geraldine Conner to represent Carnival Messiah in Trinidad at the World Carnival Conference in 1999. Her experience during this project inspired her to continue to work closely with the theatre and performance practitioners in developing sound and music for the stage.
In early 2007 she decided to initiate and develop her own Vocal Performance group "Caution Collective" with the aim of developing the talent of local young singers and providing them with performance opportunities to develop their abilities within the city of Leeds. The group has been thriving for over four years now performing at Space2’s Theatre projects at the West Yorkshire Playhouse, In 2009 Caution Collective won Breeze Has Talent’s Best Group and they secured the opportunity to perform on stage alongside Choir Master Pete Churchill at the main Olympic torch event in Leeds at Temple Newsam and for her majesty the Queen at her Diamond Jubilee celebration in Leeds city centre.
What began as a very small performance group has grown into an elite portfolio of up and coming songwriters and musiocnas. Caution Collective events have taken place multiple times a year across many venues in yorkshire since 2007 but has been hosted mostly by Seven calender and has grown since the first caution show in 2008 to present; selling out every show since 2015.
Over the past 5 years Christella has been performing as a Vandella alongside Motown recording artist Martha Reeves on her recent European and UK tours. This has lead to her sharing a stage with World renowned artists such as Peabo Bryson, Candi Staton, Billy Paul, Martha Walsh and many more. Christella continues to build her musical archive and plans to celebrate a decade of her best works.
